Each home in Roundhay is designed with freedom and independence in mind. All have two or three bedrooms and all are fully self-contained, private and airy. Each has its own sunny patio area. And all have car garages.

Like all other retirement villages, at Roundhay you purchase a license to occupy.

Another nice point of difference for Roundhay is that it is not part of a large national chain. Which contributes to the warm, personalised, relaxed, and secure atmosphere at Roundhay.

Then there’s the Orangerie – Roundhay’s elegant pavilion which is yours to use as you wish. It is a social hub for residents, their friends and family. Roundhay has a programme of activities organised by the residents themselves so that it reflects their interests and ablilities.

Supported independence

Here you are free to live your life however you like. But there is the option of supported independence too – a little extra help here and there. We have a selection of in-home care and support services available to cover some of the day-to-day things that you might want extra help with – either now and again or on a more regular basis.

Among Nelson’s many virtues is the fact that we have some of the best doctors in New Zealand, as well as very high quality public and private health care. The reason Nelson is so well off is because, like you, doctors want to live here. It is just such a loverly place to live. And the local DHB has the luxury of choosing the best.
